I'm writing because of this piece.

Some time back I got a request from a girl I work with to design her a mermaid tattoo. Being new to the tattoo designing world, I agreed on the condition that I would be able to use a picture of her finished tattoo in my portfolio, to help me in the future.

As far as I was concerned, this was an understanding between both of us.

However something must have gotten lost in translation between the time I gave the picture to her, and when she got the tattoo, because when I showed up at the parlor, the tattoo artist had changed a good two thirds of it, and traced the rest from my original piece.

Needless to say, I was upset.
Mostly with myself for not having properly controlled the use of my artwork, but also with my friend for breaching our understanding.

So that brings me to this post.
I am proud of this piece, and am interested in selling the original design to whomever wants it.

Things to understand: This piece is to be sold as is, and will not be altered by me.

Seeing as it was originally designed for someone else, and I'm not willing to alter it, I'll be selling it at a discounted price of $35.

Upon purchase of this design, I will consent to the owners right to add to the original design, if they wish, for it is intended to be a fairly large piece (designed to be tattooed on the side), but the actual image of the mermaid itself is NOT to be altered in any way, shape or form.
